Solution<\/h2>\n

NOTE: Passwords for domain accounts typically expire and are changed regularly. If the password for the domain account changes you will need to update the settings in the registry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need to configure the automatic logon through the registry editor.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open the registry editor (regedit)<\/li>\n
  2. Navigiate to\u00a0<\/span>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWinlogon<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Open the\u00a0<\/span>\u2018AutoAdminLogon\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>key and change it\u2019s value to\u00a0<\/span>\u201c1\u2033<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. \"MSWindows7-AutoLogonDomain2\"<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Open the\u00a0<\/span>\u2018DefaultDomainName\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>key and set the value to your domain name (or the computers name if using a local account)<\/li>\n
  6. Open the\u00a0<\/span>\u2018DefaultUserName\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>key and set the value to the user name for the auto logon<\/li>\n
  7. Create a new STRING (REG_SZ) value called\u00a0<\/span>\u2018DefaultPassword\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>and set the value to the user account password.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    NOTE: if you\u2019re unsure what the \u2018DefaultDomainName\u2019 field needs, you can open the command prompt and enter\u00a0<\/span>echo %domainname%<\/strong>
    \n.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>The output (in this case \u201cDEV\u201d needs to be the same as the \u2018DefaultDomainName\u2019 value as indicated in the picture below).<\/p>\n
