Tutorials: How to add other file shares to SBS 2011 Remote Web Access"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jacksontechnical.com\/articles.htm?cat=4#start\">&#8220;How-To&#8221; Tutorials:<\/a> How to add other file shares to SBS 2011 Remote Web Access<\/h2>\n<p>One of the coolest new features in Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 (SBS 2011) is the <strong>Shared Folders<\/strong> functionality in <strong>Remote Web Access<\/strong> (RWA) (formerly Remote Web Workplace RWW).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jacksontechnical.com\/article.htm?id=50\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.jacksontechnical.com\/article.htm?id=50 <\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, by default the only file shares that are available through this interface are the ones actually shared on the SBS11 server itself.\u00a0 What if you need to add shares from different member servers?<\/p>\n<p>If you want to open access on other file shares within your domain, perhaps a NAS device, etc. then you can change the default web.config file to explicitly define a list of other shares using the following procedure:<\/p>\n<p>On the SBS 11 server open up <em><strong>C:\\Program Files\\Windows Small Business Server\\Bin\\WebApp\\RemoteAccess<\/strong><\/em> (default location)<\/p>\n<p>Make a backup copy of <em>web.config<\/em> file (formatted in XML).<\/p>\n<p>Open <strong>web.config<\/strong> in notepad, and find <strong>SBSStorageProvider<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comment out the following line using <span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">&lt;!&#8211;<\/span> and<span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\"> &#8211;&gt;<\/span>\u00a0 :<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">&lt;!&#8211; &lt;wssg.storageProvider type=&#8221;Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.Web.Storage.SBSStorageProvider, Wssg.Web.StorageProvider&#8221; \/&gt; &#8211;&gt;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Add this line directly below the original:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Courier New;\">&lt;wssg.storageProvider type=&#8221;Microsoft.WindowsServerSolutions.Web.Storage.FileSystemBasedStorageInformationProvider, Wssg.Web.Internal&#8221;
