Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

I replaced a failed RAID hard drive with a new hard drive, but it’s not rebuilding.<\/p>\n

Solution<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is expected behavior. User action is required.<\/p>\n

Use the following steps to start a rebuild of a degraded RAID volume after replacing the failed hard drive with a new hard drive of equal or larger size.<\/p>\n

  1. Power on the system.<\/li>\n
  2. Open the Intel\u00ae Rapid Storage Technology user interface. After the operating system is running, click Intel\u00ae Rapid Storage Technology<\/strong> in the Start Menu or right-click the Intel Rapid Storage Technology tray icon and click Intel\u00ae Rapid Storage Technology<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Click Rebuild to another disk<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Select the new hard drive.<\/li>\n
  5. Click Rebuild<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
