For the past week or so, I have upgraded my domain to Windows 2003
\nnative. My DC’s were all previous 2000. The exchange server was running
\n2003 exchange, on a 2000 server operating system.<\/p>\n
I upgraded my system to 2003, all of them without a hitch. I then
\ninstalled SP2 for Exchange 2003. Everything seemed to work aside from
\nactivesync. The wierd thing is, it worked half the time, and the other
\nhalf it didn’t. I would get a Active Sync HTTP_500 error on my palm,
\nand a Event ID 3005 ActiveSync “Verify Exchange is working properly” on
\nthe server end.<\/p>\n
For the past week I have dedicated most of my time trying to fix this
\nproblem. I have tried every KB article I could find, and every reg hack
\nyou could think of.<\/p>\n
I finally broke down and spent a 100 bucks to contact Microsoft about
\nthe issue, I noticed several other people on groups having the same
\nproblem as me and were not getting the correct solution to fix this.<\/p>\n
This is going to kick everyone in the butt when you learn how easy this
\nis to fix. I figured I would post this to anyone else that might have
\nthis same problem with ActiveSync.<\/p>\n
1. Open up Systems Manager (start, all programs, microsoft exchange,
\nsystems manager)
\n2. Look for the “Servers” folder, and drill down.
\n3. If you have a Front-End\/Back-End (FE BE) scenario like me you will
\nhave to do this fix to both machines.
\n4. Drill down the server you want, drill down “Protocols, HTTP,
\nExchange Virtual Server”.
\n5. Once you have drilled down there, right click on the
\n“Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync” and click DELETE.
\n6. Right click on the “Exchange Virtual Server” and click New then
\nVirtual Directory.
\n7. Under name: Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync, then under “Exchange Path”
\nclick “Exchange ActiveSync”
\n8. Then OK out of it.<\/p>\n
