You want to disable<br \/>\nWindows Firewall on all client workstations, if I have misunderstood your<br \/>\nconcern, please let me know.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, please see my steps below:<\/p>\n<p>Before the operation, you need to download the following hotfixes first.<\/p>\n<p>After you install the Windows XP SP2 in your SBS 2k3 network, you may need<br \/>\nto install the Update for SBS 2k3 server first, please refer to the<br \/>\nfollowing article.<\/p>\n<p>872769 You cannot configure Windows Firewall settings or Security Center<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/?id=872769<\/p>\n<p>If you want to modify the Group Policy setting that is configured when you<br \/>\ninstalled the Windows Small Business Server 2003 Update for Windows XP SP2,<br \/>\ninstall the hotfix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge<br \/>\nBase article:<\/p>\n<p>842933 &#8220;The following entry in the [strings] section is too long and has<br \/>\nbeen truncated&#8221; error message when you edit or view Group Policy in Windows<br \/>\nServer 2003, in Windows XP, or in Windows 2000<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/default.aspx?kbid=842933<\/p>\n<p>Install both the Windows Small Business Server 2003 Update for Windows XP<br \/>\nSP2 (872769) and the hotfix that is described in the article 842933 only if<br \/>\nyou want to modify the Group Policy setting that is configured when you<br \/>\ninstalled the Windows Small Business Server 2003 Update for Windows XP SP2.<\/p>\n<p>After installing the above 2 hotfixes, please use the following steps to<br \/>\nedit the GPO<\/p>\n<p>a) On the server, go to Start -> Administrative Tools -> Group Policy<br \/>\nManagement\\Forest\\Domain\\Yourserver(local) .<\/p>\n<p>b) Right click the Small Business Server Windows Firewall and click Edit<\/p>\n<p>c) Go to Computer Configuration\\Administrative templates\\Network\\Network<br \/>\nConnections\\Windows Firewall\\Domain Profile.<\/p>\n<p>d)  On the right pane, change all the settings to &#8220;Not Configured&#8221;. Go to<br \/>\n&#8220;Standard Profile&#8221; and also make sure all settings are set as &#8220;Not<br \/>\nConfigured&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>e)  Run &#8220;gpupdate \/force&#8221; on all your XP2 client workstations to get the<br \/>\npolicy changes applied to them.<\/p>\n<p>f) Ask your clients to test again.<\/p>\n<p>Hope this information helps.
