configured the dsl modem to located PPOE on the firewall. note this is not the default of the modem<\/p>\n

make external interface fixed ip address as 192.168.0.2,
\n this was done because the internal network is 192.168.1.x and modem hands out 192.168.1.64 to external interface if dhcp is enabled. this will not work have 192.168.1.64 ext and 192.168.1.254 on internal. no routing.<\/p>\n

\ndial settings set to use ras entry in XP
