Login<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Once you have inserted your SD card into your raspberry pi and turned it on via the power switch for the transformer (No power button on a raspberry pi) the boot up screen should appear.<\/p>\n<p>If you have set up your SD card correctly you should see a\u00a0 raspberry pi logo in the top right hand corner and logs of white writing (System boot information) once done you have a login prompt.<\/p>\n<p>The username and password for \u201csqueeze\u201d raspberry pi is<\/p>\n<p><strong>Username \u2013 Pi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Password \u2013 raspberry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will now be asked to set the time as the raspberry pi does not come with an on board real-time clock<\/p>\n<p>You are now in the Debian Command Line and can now start playing with your raspberry pi<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>Starting the Gui<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>If you want the raspberry pi GUI then type the following command in the Debian command line<\/p>\n<p><strong>startx<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The screen will now go black and then the raspberry pi logo will appear on the screen.<\/p>\n<h3><em><strong>Installing applications<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>In the GUI left click in the bottom left hand corner on the blue cross to display the options menu (Like the start button in windows)<\/p>\n<p>Go up to \u201cother\u201d and then scroll down the list until you get to \u201cterminal\u201d and left click<\/p>\n<p>You should now see the \u201cterminal\u201d window which is just like a cmd box in windows<\/p>\n<p>The first thing we have to do is update the system with the following command<\/p>\n<p><strong>sudo apt-get update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>(we use\u00a0sudo\u00a0command for \u201crun as admin\u201d as the standard account is not a admin)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This will update the repository on the raspberry pi with locations of software and general software updates.<\/p>\n<p>To search for software by name type the following command<\/p>\n<p><strong>sudo apt-cache search<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Example (sudo apt-cache search chromium)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To install software by name<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sudo apt-get install<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Example (sudo apt-get install chromium)<\/p>\n<p>To uninstall software<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sudo apt-get remove<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Example
