You can use the EMC and the Shell to configure the authentication options for IMAP4.<\/p>\n

You need to be assigned permissions before you can perform this procedure. To see what permissions you need, see the “POP3 and IMAP4” entry in the\u00a0Client Access Permissions<\/a>\u00a0topic.<\/p>\n

  1. In the console tree, navigate to\u00a0Server Configuration<\/strong>><\/strong>Client Access<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the work pane, click the\u00a0POP3 and IMAP4<\/strong>\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n
  3. Select\u00a0IMAP4<\/strong>\u00a0and then, in the action pane, under\u00a0IMAP4<\/strong>, click\u00a0Properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. On the\u00a0IMAP4 Properties<\/strong>\u00a0page, click the\u00a0Authentication<\/strong>\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n
  5. Under\u00a0Logon Method<\/strong>, select one of the following:\n
      \n
    1. Plain text logon<\/strong>\u00a0(Basic authentication)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0No TLS connection is required for the client to authenticate to the server.<\/li>\n
    2. Plain text authentication logon<\/strong>\u00a0(Integrated Windows authentication) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0No TLS connection is required for the client to authenticate to the server.<\/li>\n
    3. Secure logon<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A TLS connection is required for the client to authenticate to the server.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Click\u00a0Apply<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0OK<\/strong>\u00a0to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
